Our physicians work closely with patients to determine which procedure is right for them. The Vein Center offers a range of treatments for varicose and spider veins, and treatment plans can range from a single session to a series of treatments employing multiple therapies.

Ambulatory Phlebectomy

Known as a classic method of treating large varicose veins, Ambulatory Phlebectomy is a minimally invasive surgical technique which involves manual removal of the affected varicose veins through small incisions. It requires only local anesthesia and usually takes less than an hour with minimal downtime. Treatment can be used independently or in conjunction with other varicose vein treatments.

Sclerotherapy is a treatment in which a sclerosing agent is injected into affected varicose or spider veins. This solution causes an irritation to the inner lining of the vein, causing it to close. Treatment can be used independently or in conjunction with other varicose vein therapies. Results may be seen immediately; while other procedures may take several weeks to show results.

EVLA (Endovenous laser ablation)

This very modern, leading edge treatment treats varicose veins up to 25-30 inches in length through a small cut in your leg or thigh. You do not need to spend a day at the facility to recover as the procedure can be performed on local anaesthesia. For active adults, it is an exciting option that allows the patient to resume a full and active life the very next day.
